We learned that Kristin had breast cancer on Monday, July 7th, 2008. Kristin was 37 years old. The pathology results concluded Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS). More info on this can be found here. After weighing the possible treatment options Kristin opted for a double mastectomy which has the lowest reoccurrence rate of below 1%. Kristin's bilateral mastectomy was performed on August 11th, 2008, eight days after her 38th birthday. She is currently in the process of reconstruction which will last four to six months.
